My Journey of Gratitude - Day 8

My mind gets so impatient when it feels I'm not moving forward fast enough. It is always wanting more, more, more and faster. This impatience stems from an old belief that there is not enough, so better get it right now. And that was my experience this morning.

Impatience when nothing 'grand' seemed to be happening. I love those mountain top experiences. You know the ones where you feel on top of the world and everything is laid at your feet. Your energy is high and you are in the zone. I love that and truth is that there are many other ways to experience transformation as well.

Those gentle moments of gratitude are just as powerful--when I am open to noticing them. Like a warm gentle breeze blowing freshness into my home, so is that gentle, easy flow of gratitude bringing freshness into my life--and I am transforming.

This journey with gratitude is building a new foundation from which to live my life. My old foundation which was based on past pain was like a huge dam filled with thousands of leaks and threatening to overwhelm me should I not contain it all. What an exhausting way to live!

Today I have a new image. The dam has broken and I'm riding the waves using the energy released to fuel my new foundation, my new way of living in this world.

No longer afraid of being overwhelmed, I am now free to build anew. And I hear myself on that surfboard yelling "Ride the waves baby. Ride the waves."

Gratitude Experiment--Day 4

Here's what I experienced from my 10 minutes in gratitude this morning.

Being grateful for your life in this moment, no matter what your current circumstances, does not mean that you are content or ok with where you are. By saying thank you for what is now is not the same as being satisfied for what is. You are not saying "I'm grateful for this debt. I'm grateful for this illness." Or whatever is happening in your life now. That is a common misunderstanding--or fear we often have about saying thank you for what is.

By saying thank you for the money that I DO have expands you beyond the fear of not enough. Thank you for the love I DO have in my life opens you to even more.

Everything is energy. What you think, feel and do is energy. And energy either expands or contracts. Gratitude is an expansive energy and when you take the time to be grateful for even one thing in your life--your energy expands and flows in ways you may not notice. But it does.

Gratitude is more than a feeling. It is a state of being. The more time you spend in this state of being, the more it becomes part of your true nature.
Gratitude is the energy of 'even more'. And you can certainly add that in your thank yous.

Thank you for the business I DO have. I am so grateful. And I open to having even more. Thank you.

The Possible Dream

You create in the unified field. Whatever you have in your life, you have participated in creating. That can either be good news or bad, depending on how content you are with what you find around you.

You can know from the science of quantum physics that your thoughts are in fact things, and that they are the energy of creation. What you think about and put your energy toward is what you are consistently creating in your life.

So what is your dream? What would fill your life with delight if you cleared your intention to manifest it in your life?

This is not an idle question, unless you put your focus, your intention on what you truly want, it reduces the probability that it will show up. Think about the people you know, or know about, that have achieved their dreams, no matter how long it may have taken.

One of my favorite stories is the story of a woman with a brilliant voice who always wanted to sing. She was deprived of oxygen during birth and was diagnosed with learning difficulties. She was a quiet, plain child, ridiculed by the other children in school. She lived very simply as an adult, taking care of her aging mother and never marrying, or even dating. A woman with a gifted voice, who for most of her 50 years sang only in the choir. She finally made a few demos, expanding her love of music, and even entered and won several local singing competitions.

When an opportunity to audition for a large national talent program appeared, she almost decided to pass it up, telling herself that people are always judged on how they look, not on who they are, or even how strong their talent is. The most critical thing is, she held on to her dream even though in other auditions she had been mocked for her appearance and dismissed as too old, to odd, and too unattractive.

When she walked on stage for this particular audition, in front of millions of tv viewers and a panel of people who rolled their eyes and expected the worse, she stepped into the fulfillment of her dream. She knew that for her, the unified field had shifted to accommodate the dream she had been holding all her life. That moment in time changed not only the life of Susan Boyle, as she sang the song I Dreamed a Dream with amazing passion and beauty, it also changed the life of many girls, women, and even men who thought they could continue to tell themselves that their dreams could not come true.

Susan Boyle demonstrated to the world that your Dream can be fulfilled in your life when you believe in it, and believe in yourself, even if no one else does! Her unwavering belief in herself deep inside, was the difference between Susan Boyle prior to her appearance in 2009 on Britain’s Got Talent, and her life after that amazing appearance.

Susan put all of her energy toward the outcome she desired, she clarified what she wanted in her life, and she made every step move her toward the outcome of that dream, she took the action steps necessary to be the Susan Boyle she wanted to be.

What is your dream? Have you clarified what you want? Have you clarified what you want to be and do in your life? And are you willing to take the steps toward that outcome?

Faith in yourself is a matter of action, it is not a passive behavior, it means keeping all of your steps moving toward your goals. There may be setbacks, there may be what appear to be gaps – but things are always moving into your goal as long as you keep your goal clearly in mind.

What stops you from seeing the outcome or appearance of your dream immediately? It is important to know that it always exists for you. Your dream is just waiting for you to allow yourself to receive it. Does that sound unreal – or not real? What is the difference between those who see their results right away and those who see them show up much later in life, or not at all? The difference is the unconscious focus of intention.

You often hear that all you need to do is to simply state what you want to yourself, or say your amazing One Command, and what you want is already there for you. It is there for you but you may be overlaying it with your focus on what you don’t want instead.

If you dream of, or ask for, or better yet One Command for, a particular thing, then it is there. And if you then immediately start thinking of its opposite and putting intensity and energy into what you don’t want, your subconscious does not know the difference between good or bad, want and don’t want – it simply creates what you are putting your attention on. If you keep saying, I hope I don’t trip, your unconscious hears, I hope I trip, and often you do. What if you put your focus on, I walk with ease and grace, you probably will!

Could Susan Boyle have found her success earlier in her life? Very likely…were there things that took precedence…apparently there were. We get distracted from our dreams by other things in our lives and often do not recognize, or even believe, that we can have it all.

Think about your own life, are there things you let go of? Are there opportunities you ignored or didn’t see until they were already gone? It’s ok, you are here now, present in your own life. Now is the time to go for clarity and keep your focus on what you want, what is meaningful in your life, what is your dream.

Go to youtube – watch any Susan Boyle video, watch the response of the audience when she walks out – watch her spunk as she knows she is now in the right place at the right time, and watch the amazement of the judges and the audience as she starts to sing.

This is your time, your Susan Boyle moment, what has been in your heart to do, be and have?

Be here now, live Your Dream, trust your creative ability in the unified field.

Blessings, Katie

Redefining success

In reading an inspiratonal message this morning I came across a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that sparked a new way of thinking about success and how I am already succeeding.

"To know that one life has breathed easier because you have lived.  This
is to have succeeded."  Ralph Waldo Emerson.

I know that I have recently become so focused on creating income that my
definition of 'success' became so narrow.  I was gaging my success by how
much money I brought in each month.  If I made my goal, I felt successful
and that felt good.  But conversely when I didn't reach that financial
goal I felt like a failure.  With such a narrow focus I forgot to look at
the people and situations in my life where I made a difference, often just
by being myself.  Taking that phone call from one of my children in the
middle of my day, listening to my husband tell me about his day, holding a
grandchild, making sure a client got what they needed or just listening
when someone needs to talk .  Those are ways to make a difference in a
life--and making a difference in any way for any one person is succeeding.

It took getting away from my daily routine to visit a daughter and her
family that reminded me of what is most important to me and what brings me
the most satisfaction in life.  With teaching & 4 growing kids, she's on
the run all the time.  Being here I was able to help pick someone up from
practice or drop someone else off where they had to go.  Jim & I had
dinner ready for them when they all came home.  At one point she said that
just those simple acts made such a difference for her and she was
grateful.

That is my reminder that it is time revisit my values and where I am living them or ignoring them.  It is time for me to relocate my 'true north'--those ways of being in the world that are most precious to me and to remind myself
of how I define success.

Just as there are 'many ways up the mountain' there are many ways to succeed.

May today be a day where someone breathes easier in your life because you live.

How You Do Anything is How You Do Everything

Take a look at your I Am today - in the TOC yahoo group we ask this question on the 6th of every month - this will give you a head-start. I am watching Julie & Julia again (for about the 10th time), it is running in the background while I work. Why in the world is it on my tv? Well, what I love about it is Julia Child's sense of self, her innate self-confidence, it would seem like her 'I Am' might be 'I Belong'. I Belong in the world and I go after what I want without a second thought. Another possibility of her I Am might be - 'Who Says!' Who says I can or I can't - other than myself.

As for Julie (and if you haven't seen the film - Julie started a blog about taking a year to make every single one of Julia's recipes, and making it as well as Julia would herself). Julie's journey started out quite differently than Julia's. Julie had a TON of self-doubt and misgivings and she seemed to have learned as much about having 'sense of self' as she did about cooking. It was a true Heroes Journey.

So what is YOUR I Am? Who can you honestly say you are today (and remember, this is mutable and changeable). The most meaningful and absolutely true 'I Am's' have to do with your character. No matter what you think your I Am is, your true I Am will always be linked to your character.

Bonnie and I work with people who really want to know who they are, who their I Am is, and how they find the true adventure of their lives. This blog is our way of tossing everything out to the universe - tickling the unified field and connecting with everyone on this amazing journey of the decade (and beyond).

Here's to life! Katie
